1)     TYPE:

The CBB Conference Tourney system is a PURE FLAT system. To explain further, we have two different types of flat systems: PURE Flat and WEIGHTED Flat. Pure Flat systems are 1.00 units on EVERY PLAY. Weighted Flat systems vary from 0.20 to 5.00 units based on the historical data of the group (Money Line Range, Home/Away, etc.). We also have PROGRESSIVE systems that vary from 0.20 to 5.00 units as well. However the difference between Weighted Flat and PROGRESSIVE systems is that PRECEDING results (prior week, prior day, etc) have no impact on the plays. So there is no build factor or due factor, as there is with Progressive systems. That is why it is still a flat. However with PURE Flat systems there is no weighting at all. The advantage of the Pure Flat system is there is far less downside risk (each play is 1 unit, and there are far less plays). The disadvantage of Pure Flat is that we miss out on 'dogs hitting around us' (outside the range) when there are abnormal years. More info on the different types of systems can be found in our
FAQ's section
.

2)     UNITS:

Our unit scale utilizes a base amount of 1 UNIT. This is to keep things uniform with the way most other services/systems release plays and to make it easy for everyone to multiply and understand.

As stated above the CBB Conference Tourney system is a PURE FLAT system, meaning you wager the same amount (1 UNIT) on every play.

Units     ($) options

0.20     $20       $100     $200

0.50     $50       $250     $500

1.00     $100     $500     $1000 >> FOR PURE FLAT systems, every play is 1 UNIT (your standard play)

2.00     $200     $1000   $2000

3.00     $300     $1500   $3000

5.00     $500     $2500   $5000

3)     UPDATE TIMES:

  • There will be TWO updates every day during this system from Tuesday the 10th through Saturday the 15th. The first will be at approximately 11 AM Eastern and the second will be at approximately 6 PM Eastern.

  • On Sunday, March 15th, there will be ONE update at approximately 11 AM Eastern

  • All updates will be sent via EMAIL.

4)     PROFIT NUMBERS:

Here are the profit numbers for this system over the past six seasons:

PROFITS W-L (%) # of PLAYS PLAYS PER DAY (AVG.)
2003 + 23.85 14-15 (48%) 29 7.3*
2004 +  2.75 10-17 (37%) 27 6.8*
2005 + 31.35 16-14 (53%) 30 7.5*
2006 + 24.35 20-16 (56%) 36 6.0
2007 + 30.55 14-15 (48%) 29 4.8
2008 + 29.70 20-13 (61%) 33 5.5
TOTAL +142.55 94-90 (51%) 184
AVG + 23.76   31 6.1

* 2003-2005 there were only 4 days (Thursday - Sunday) for the 8 conferences we're utilizing for this system (for more on the conferences see 'NOTES' below). 2006-2008 there were 6 days (Tuesday - Sunday). This season there will also be 6 days.

As you can see each season finished with a profit, and 2004 was really the only 'off' season. The average profit was +23.76 units. So if you use $100 as your baseline 1 unit play that would be an average profit of $2,376, and a total profit of $14,255 over the past six seasons. If you use $500 as your baseline, that would be an average profit of $11,880 and a total profit of $71,275.

As you can see over the worse performing season was 37%, and that season seems to be abnormal and an outlier. So we feel this system has very little downside risk and tremendous upside potential.

5)     BANKROLL:

For this particular system, since it's a pure flat and there's only an average of 5-7 games per day, a bankroll of 10.0 units would have been sufficient in each of the past six seasons. That balance never would've gone negative and always would've had enough to cover the next day's games, even in the worst performing season.

6)    HOW FLAT SYSTEMS WORK

Flat systems are very simple. We isolate the historical profitable ranges for a given group of games and play ONLY the games that fall into those ranges. Because the ranges are profitable, a flat system virtually assures profit with very little downside risk. In the case of these conference tournaments, a progressive system would be too risky in case it's an abnormal season and one of the ranges fails to hit at historical levels. After analyzing the data we concluded that a flat system is the safer route to ensure profits for this particular CBB segment.

7)     MORE NOTES:

  • The system this season features 8 conferences: ACC, BIG 12, BIG EAST, BIG TEN, C-USA, MOUNTAIN WEST, PAC-10, and SEC.

  • In future seasons, we will be looking to add more conferences (i.e. A-10, BIG WEST, MAC & WAC)

  • We will be using the lines from BookMaker.com to determine the games that fall into the system

  • We will pull the lines at approximately 10:30 AM Eastern for the day update and 5:30 PM Eastern for the night update.

  • MOST of the lines in our database (over 80%) from 2003-2008 are from CRIS/BM (same lines). A small percentage of the 2003 & 2006 lines were from Pinnacle or BOS. ALL of the 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2008 lines were from CRIS/BM.

  • The following provides the records of the FIRST 10 games each season:
    2003: 5-5
    2004: 4-6
    2005: 6-4
    2006: 5-5
    2007: 4-6
    2008: 6-4
