CFL August system:
TYPE: This particular football betting system is a WEIGHTED FLAT system. To explain further, we have two different types of flat systems: PURE Flat and WEIGHTED Flat. Pure Flat systems are 1 UNIT on EVERY PLAY. Weighted Flat systems vary from 0.2 to 5 units based on the historical data of the group (our data is sorted by Money Line Range, Home/Away, Conference, Day, etc.). The advantage of Weighted Flat systems is we don't miss out on many dog wins, because we are on most - if not all of them - it's just a matter of to what extent. Pure Flat systems generally feature less plays, because we ONLY play the profitable ranges. The disadvantage of weighted flat systems is because the higher unit plays are based on HISTORICAL data - if there's an off year or bad luck year - there can be a greater likelihood of losses if the high unit groups don't perform well. For more on the different types of systems, click HERE. UNITS: Our unit scale utilizes a base amount of 1 UNIT. This is to keep things uniform with the way most other handicapping services and sports betting systems release plays. It also makes it easy for everyone to multiply and understand. As
stated above our CFL August system is a WEIGHTED FLAT system,
so your wager amounts will vary depending on the unit rating of
the play. However we will not be using
all of the unit levels for this particular system. For this system, we will only be utilizing
0.20 to 3.00
units. Units ($) options 0.20 $20 $100 $200 (1/5 your standard wager) 0.50

PROFIT NUMBERS: Here are the profit numbers for this system over the past 6 seasons:
We have modified this system slightly from last season, since it finished -3.43 units. However it's the same plays per day (0.4) and units per day (0.4). We've simply shifted the unit weightings to give us solid upside potential with minimal downside risk. As you can see the two seasons that did not perform well (2004 & 2007) still finished with a profit with these weightings. And with the TOTAL unit risk of between 6-15 units - this system is conservative. There is such a small number of CFL games the risk is minimal, yet they can provide a nice boost to the overall profits in August if it's a normal season. So we're excited about the potential for this system because four out of the six seasons finished with decent profits. The average profit across all 6 seasons is +4.24 units. So if you use $100 as your baseline (1.00 unit) play that would be an average profit of $424, and a total profit of $2,543 over the past 6 seasons. If you use $500 as your baseline, that would be an average profit of $2,119 and a total profit of $12,713. PLAY BREAKDOWN: Here is a breakdown of the # of plays by unit level for each year:
