MLB August system:
TYPE: This particular baseball betting system is a PURE FLAT system. To explain further, we have two different types of flat systems: PURE Flat and WEIGHTED Flat. Pure Flat systems are 1 UNIT on EVERY PLAY. Weighted Flat systems vary from 0.2 to 5 units based on the historical data of the group (our data is sorted by Money Line Range, Home/Away, AL/NL/Interleague, etc.). The advantage of the Pure Flat system is there is far less downside risk (each play is 1 unit, and there are usually far less plays). The disadvantage of Pure Flat is that we miss out on 'dogs hitting around us' (outside the range) when there are abnormal years. For more on the different types of systems, click HERE. UNITS: Our unit scale utilizes a base amount of 1 UNIT. This is to keep things uniform with the way most other handicapping services and sports betting systems release plays. It also makes it easy for everyone to multiply and understand. As stated above the August MLB system is a PURE FLAT system, meaning you wager the same amount (1 UNIT) on every play. PROFIT NUMBERS: Here are the profit numbers for this system over the past 5 seasons:
As you can see last season was the worst performing record-wise and the highest number of plays we've had for this system so far. Despite that, we still finished with nearly 20 units of profit. As a result, we are obviously NOT modifying this system for 2010. Each season finished with a profit, and the average profit was +31.06 units. So if you use $100 as your baseline 1 unit play that would be an average profit of $3,106 per August, and a total profit of $15,532 over the past four seasons. If you use $500 as your baseline, that would be an average profit of $15,532 and a total profit of $77,660. As you can see this system has tremendous upside potential and very little downside risk. Although for some reason (probably due to the cyclical nature of scheduling and match-ups), 2006 & 2007 featured far less plays. So the system averages 102 plays for the month, or 3.3 plays per day. That ranged from 4.0 plays per day last season to 2.7 per day in 2006. So we'll see how this year turns out, it will all depend on the schedule and pitching matchups as it always does. In any case, with the small number of plays and the fact that they're 1 unit each - this system is far less risky than the weighted flat systems. MORE NOTES:
